4.How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

The Technology we used.


The Cameras and Tripods

This me with the HD Video Camera, tripod and headphones that we used to film the footage for our music video. We only used the tripod for a few shots as most of our footage was hand-held. It definatly helped the footage buy using HD cameras instead of DV, as it made the quality of our video so much better than it would have be in DV.



We also used a Nikon D40x camera for taking pictures of the desgin for our digi-pack and advert, because we made the desgin on paper then, used the camera to take pictures of the images so that we could put the images in photoshop to edit.





The Computers

We used Mac computers for the whole project, for; importing video footage and pictures, editing software, blogging, other internet social networking sites.



The editing software

The editing software that we used during this project, were Final Cut Express and Photoshop.
We used Final Cut Express to edit all of the footage we had, we used it to cut up the footage, add transitions and add effects. And we used Photoshop to edit the images for the digi-pack and the advert, we used it to edit the dimensions of the photo's we took of our desgin, and edited them (adding things, moving things around).

The Social Networking sites.

As well as hardware and software, we also used a lot of social networking sites during this project. Blogger; to post of work on. Youtube & Vimeo; to upload of rough cuts and final video's onto and to find research for the planning. Twitter & Facebook & Hotmail; to post, email or just inform general people about the video and ask for feedback.
The social networking sites that we used helped us a lot in getting people to watch our video and getting feedback.








All of these; hardware, software and online social networking sites have helped us a lot in the duration of the project, they have been the main things used in the whole of the project; planning, making and evaluation. We have used them a lot, and our project would not be like it is now. We would to have been able to the online research/online feedback without the internet, we would not have been able to do all the digital editing that made our video interesting without the Mac's and editing software, and our video wouldn't be as good quality without the camera and tripod.
