Nine shots from our music video that show the following things;
1. a shot that shows a link between lyrics and/or music and visuals

This shot shows a link between the lyrics of the song and the video because the lyrics to the song are quite sad and very emotional and this shot so the pain she is feeling about what the song is describing and the link between the lyrics and her emotion.
2. a shot that typifies the way a record company would want their artist to be represented
This shot shows how a record company would want the artist to be represented, because she is a live performance artist and this shot shows her on stage with microphone, in a live performance.
This shot show the type of music genre that the music video is, this indicates that the music video is for an acoustic song, as it is a close-up of the artist playing an acoustic guitar.
4. a shot that shows an intertextual reference
This shot is an intertextual reference to a shot from the music video KT Tunstall - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree (number 4 in the shots from other music videos shots)
This shot is a reference in the way that the shot from KT Tunstall and this shot are of a mirrored image of the artists face/mouth singing.
This shot shows the use of camera by showing one of the many different shot angles that we experimented and used in our footage for the music video. We used a lot of angles and this is a close-up of Becky playing the guitar from above.
This shows the use of lighting that we used in the music video because the lighting in our video was blue and white stage lighting, the lighting used in our video was the same type of lighting that would be used in a live performance, because it is a live performance video.
This is a shot that show some of the mise-en-scene in our video, this shows that the video is on a stage with lighting (live performance). The costume in our video is her in her normal clothes, like a regular teenager.

These shots show that we have watched other music videos to get references/influences from when making our music video, these are similar shots that me and Philippa found in other music videos and that influenced our final video. (Number 8 and 9 from other music video shots)
Nine Shots from other music videos;
1. a shot that shows a link between lyrics and/or music and visuals

This shot from the music video of Don't Let Me Get Me by Pink, shows a link between the video and the lyrics to the song, in the shot the lyrics are 'my socks are never clean' and it is linked to the video because she smells her own sock, which links the lyrics of the song to the action she is doing in the video. Unlike in ours, because in our video the link between lyrics and video, is Becky linking her emotion to the sad, slow lyrics.
2. a shot that typifies the way a record company would want their artist to be represented

2. a shot that typifies the way a record company would want their artist to be represented

This shot from the music video for 'Toxic' by Britney Spears. This shot shows that the record company want Britney Spears to be represented as a typical pop singer, wearing barely any close, in sexy poses. The record company would want her to be represented this way in order to get people attention and sell records, whereas our singer wouldn't be repersented in this way as she is more
3. a shot that illustrates how your video uses music genre

This image above displays the genre of the video, which in this case is heavy rock. It is shown by the huge crowd in the background, head banging with the band, typical rock most-pit that is associated with heavy rock bands. In video is was quite easy to display which genre we were trying to get across. This was because we had her playing an acoustic guitar for a live performance and this straight away gives the genre of the music.
4. a shot that shows an intertextual reference

This is an intertextual referenced used in the music video for KT Tunstall, this is also the image that we used as an intertextual reference because we used this kind of shot in our video, of Becky with 2 of her, mirrored. The KT Tunstall video is also an intertextual reference to the, the mirrored faces that make a hourglass or candle-stick shape.
5. a shot that demonstrates your use of camera

5. a shot that demonstrates your use of camera

This shot shows use of the camera, it is and interesting shot of the hand on the frets of the guitar close-up, we used similar shots to this, it is a very interesting shot and we found it used or used in a similar way in many music videos.
6. a shot that demonstrates your use of lighting

This is a shot from the video for Misery Business by Paramore, this is a shot that demontrates lighting because in this video her face is light-up quite brightly and there are bright lights behind her, the lighting helps make her face the main subject in the shot but the lighting also highlights the graffiti saying 'Riot' in the background (name of the album). We used similar lighting in our video, with having a few bright lights behind her, except the lights we used where blue and for a stage performance.
7. a shot that demonstrates your use of mise-en-scene

This shot shows good use of mise-en-scene, this shot shows that the mise-en-scene all fit in with the outside style, all the scenery, his guitar, his hair, his clothes are all in the theme of natural colours (brown and green).

These are to shots used in music video's that show that the makers have watched other videos, because these are very commonly used music video shots, a side shots from a little below of the musician and a shot having the artist on the screen twice in our shot. We used both of these types of shots in our music videos.
