Today just before me and Philippa starting filming our test shots, we decided to get used to using the HD camera. In both of mine and Philippa's opening sequence projects we didn't use the cameras so this morning we didn't know how to use it. We found it quite easy to use, to start with we learnt to changed the settings to HD then started filming us just sitting outside college on the floor just so we could see if we could work it.
The first time we filmed a couple of seconds of footage of us, it didn't have any sound when we watched it back, this is before we did not have the sound input setting rigth, but we changed them and now we know how to change it.
Playing around with the camera first really help, if we had not done this and we hadn't done some test shots to practice things like zooming, and we had jumped straight into filming not knowing anything about the settings we would have filmed with any sound and not knowing if we had any of the settings right.
I now feel really confident to using the HD camera for mine and Philippa's music video as I know how to use it and what to expect from the camera when filming our final footage.
